Rachel: Cool! I'll post on here how it went in my classroom next week, too. Might flop, might be great....sometimes new things take a couple of tries to get it right. :)
There are TONS of educational blogs out there if you are ever interested in getting new ideas. I just read about 4-5 and that keeps me busy.
I did this activity with my 2nd graders and gave each child a leveled reader from our basal reading series. It was a fun activity, but I believe it would have worked better if each child had had a longer book. Since these books are pretty short, we didn't need all of the reading time in between activities. I may try it again in the future with different, longer text.
